Admissions
We are a specialist post-16 institution (SPI), for students with Mild to Complex Learning Difficulties including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Complex Communication Needs (CCN), and Mental Health Needs (MHN) who require a significant level of support beyond that which can be accommodated within a mainstream Further Education (FE) Colleges. We provide education support and care for young people between the ages of 16-18 (19- 25, with an active Educational and Health Care Plan -EHCp).
We seek to ensure a match between what the individual needs in order to learn and what we provide at college. To provide a high-quality experience for our students, we maintain clear and effective processes. These processes start with a clear and effective admissions and enrolment procedure. Once students join us, we continuously reassess to ensure they are on the right curriculum pathway throughout their journey with us. This ensures that they receive the support they need to succeed and thrive academically.
Our Admissions Process
Consultations and Applications are open to all young people aged 16-25 (with an EHCp). Craftworks College has a specialist status, students are eligible for a place if they require Entry 1 to Level 2 programmes or who have been identified as having learning goals and aspirations that can be met through attendance at Craftworks College.
Consultations
Consultations
Local Authority Consultations are sent through via the special educational needs consultation process. We are given 15 days to respond to a consultation process. Within this time we aim to review the consultation document sent, request additional information or meet the young person, previous education provider or family. This is to decide whether Craftworks College can meet the educational needs of the young people.

FAQs
Find answers to Frequently Asked Questions below.
At Craftworks College we support an admissions process throughout the academic year. We recognise the importance of early transition for some learners and are happy to support early admissions enquiries.
At the point of admissions we will clarify the year the student is intending to start, students may be placed on a waiting list or placements may be delayed to the following academic year if we are full. We will offer alternative courses, if possible. If alternate course options are not possible we will continue to keep in touch and offer support throughout this process if a student is out of education and waiting for a placement. It is important to apply at your earliest convenience to avoid waiting or disapointment.
Contact admissions@brogdalecic.co.uk or 01795 844849 to register an interest in a course.
If the applicant has an EHCp it is recommended that Craftworks College is named within the annual review process to support the local authority in their consultation process - if additional support is needed with this, please, contact the admissions team.
No. ALL Applicants must apply for ID Documents at the Department of Home Affairs. If the applicant has no ID Document, the parent must obtain proof of application from the Department of Home Affairs. We are able to support this process, for additional information, please contact the admissions team.
NO. It is very important for parents to provide your own, valid and reliable details so that we can contact you directly about the application for yourself or your young person. Should you have any concerns related to this, please contact the admissions team so that we can support you further.
It is important that you get in contact as soon as possible with any changes to your application or your young persons application so that we can ensure our communication is supporting you effectively and ensure you have a secured placement with us.
The student will receive a welcome letter highlighting that they have secured a placement within Craftworks College. After receiving this letter they will receive a full enrolment pack outlining details they will need for their induction day and for their course.
We work with local authorities and there can be a delay in receiving a "named" placement for us within the students EHCp. We will work with young people and families to support a smooth transit on from previous providers to us and will be as efficient as possible throughout this process - if you feel there is a delay and are unsure of your secured placement with Craftworks College, please, contact the admissions team so that we can support you further.
