gtbm intervention
Good To Be Me (GTBM) is tailored programme to meet the needs of young people who find accessing mainstream education challenging.
INTRODUCTION
GTBM key aims are to:
- Engage the young person to support them to access education
- Increase their attendance at their mainstream school
- Support them to address behavioural concerns
- Build Self-esteem and emotional resilience
Recognise and understand their own and others emotions supporting them to be able to self-regulate their emotions and form positive relationships
Each programme is tailored to the specific needs of the young person and the education setting they come from. We operate across Swale and Ashford working with the mainstream schools both secondary and primary. Young people often attend one day with our programme which then stabilises them and enables them to attend the rest of the week or part week at their education setting. Young people have the opportunity to talk through their often complex situations, thoughts and feelings. To engage in practical outdoor activities. To be heard, respected and compassionately ‘held’ in a safe space whilst they work out their challenges.
