Helping local peopleand communities
Pruning Time have a team of qualified and knowledgeable gardeners with experience in landscaping and garden building. They have cultivated a small team of young people & adults with learning disabilities, who now go out into the community offering their services to help local people and communities on a regular basis. They are learning on the job and we are seeing their passion & skills bloom. Through the Pruning Time gardening service, we are able to offer our young people valuable work experience in gardening, garden maintenance, DIY and customer care skills all while serving the local community.
A seed planted
Pruning Time started with a group of young people with learning disabilities, restoring and refurbishing a garden at the Brogdale Farm Site in Faversham. The restored garden was a “Chelsea Garden” gold medal winner and was designed as an edible garden. Sadly the garden is now a lost treasure. From the success of the garden, the Pruning Time gardening service has grown.

Pruning Time is one part of a group of businesses run by Brogdale CIC - we were created to give opportunities for adults with disabilities meaningful work experience by working alongside a professional gardener. From our humble beginnings we have grown into a valuable community gardening service covering areas in and around Swale, Canterbury and Ashford.
