The Vibe team are back this term with a whole programme of clubs, activities, and projects that are created to empower young people to thrive!
Lego Club is back this term at a new location! This club is part of our short breaks programme and is a great place for young people to build and connect! Our new venue is very familiar to us – it’s our Stourside Farm which is located on the Wyvern School site. As well as playing with Lego, the young people will be able to say hello to the pigs, lambs, chickens and goats at our farm!
Lego isn’t the only club with a new location – Rushenden Youth Club has also moved. Zac and the team will now be running the club Wednesdays 4.14-5.45pm from Rushenden Community Hall where you will find games, sports, arts and crafts and of course the all important tuck shop!
It is great to be adding new locations to our schools list! We have been in Minterne Primary delivering our newest project Thrive (which we are also about to start as an after school club at Sheldwich) and speaking to Meadowfield about running it with their sixthform.
Next term we have our Marvellous Move Year 6 Transition workshops which are booking up super fast! We have even started one already with a small group at Lower Halstow, another new school to us. We love delivering this material and supporting Year 6’s move to secondary school and this year are looking forward to working alongside our Peer Mentors to create even more! The Abbey School have already started by writing a podcast for Year 6.
As part of our partnership with Faversham Town Council, VIBE have also set up a ‘Homework Cafe’. This idea emerged from the feedback given to us from Faversham pupils who wanted somewhere quiet to go where they could study after school and get a cheap snack or drink! As part of this, we have a qualified teacher on hand who can help with homework questions.
Homework Cafe is every Tuesday 3.30pm-6pm at Faversham Umbrella Centre on Court St (just down from the bus stop)
