It is our community cafe, which you can find at the top of the Gateway Plus (library) on Church Rd, Ashford. Food with Friends is all about community and creating opportunities for the community to learn, connect and thrive!
Meet Dee, Grace & Liz our Cafe Team!
Grace is our Food With Friends Cafe manager, she loves a cup of tea and keeps the cafe fun and full of laughter. She’s also rather good at the cooking side too!! Grace is accompanied by Dee who is our Craftworks TA, who is a wonderful support to our students. She always brings a positive and fun attitude to the cafe, making all of us laugh with her singing and dancing!
Liz is our Learnabout Project Worker, who also works over at Muddy Wellies Community Farm, where we get most of our fresh produce. Liz supports our adults with learning disabilities as they help bake and make our menu!
What is better than checking in with your favourite people over a cup of coffee (or tea, or hot chocolate)? If you have small people with you – we even have a dedicated space with toys and books for them to enjoy whilst you chat! Our cafe is a great space to hold small group meetings – if you want to know more, pop in and speak to Grace.
Come in on out of the wind and rain and enjoy time with your community in our cafe!
Our Cafe is not only a place for our students at Craftworks College to learn, but it is also open for Learning Tree Days and Learnabout Participants. Learning Tree works with local SEN Schools and Learnabout is our Adult Day Service. We have great fun at all three and are learning the skills needed when working in a Cafe!
Did you know our cafe also hosts a Cooking Club for young people with disabilities? Cooking Up Ideas is for those who love to bake and is open to 8-18s. The next dates are 19th Nov, 3rd & 17th Dec. Get in touch with liz@brogdalecic.co.uk to book your space!
