Starting Salary: £31,200 – £39,000 Hours: 37.5pw, Monday to Friday

Brogdale CIC is looking for a horticulture tutor with a difference. The role will require you to inspire and teach young people who have special educational needs and/or mental health concerns for part of the week and for the remaining, to help take forward our vision to build a prosperous growing site at our community farm. We are looking for a horticulturist who has a passion for creating and maintaining both crops and beautiful gardens who can enthuse other people into enjoying this too. We are a small college for post 16 students, born out of a social enterprise, Brogdale CIC, and linked to our youth service; Vibe.
We have grown and our ambitions for our farm site now include a full time teacher and horticulturist. We have polytunnels, a small orchard, and allotment areas waiting to yield fruit and veg, areas longing to be created into eye-catching gardens to help young people and adults to feel the wonder of nature. You will need to have experience of horticulture for the last 3 years, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have experience of guiding and supporting another to learn new skills.

Brogdale CIC is looking for a Functional Skills Co-ordinator. The role will require you to inspire and teach young people who have special educational needs and or mental health concerns for part of the week, and for the remaining, to create the teaching and learning curriculum for the whole of the college.
We are looking for a teacher who has the ability to bring English, Maths, and ICT to life for young people who will traditionally have seen themselves as failing at school or who may find it challenging to access education.
The role would entail creating and monitoring the functional skills delivery across 6 sites with liaison between other functional skills tutors and the subject tutors. We are looking to find creative ways to embed the learning into everyday subjects to seamlessly link functional skills to practical everyday life. We are a small college for post 16 students, born out of a social enterprise, Brogdale CIC, and linked to our youth service; Vibe. We have grown, and our ambitions for our college now includes this full time position.
