It has been a while since we updated you on all that has been going on with our Food With Friends Café. As many of you know, we have not been able to reopen since the first lockdown. It’s been a whole year, but it didn’t stop us from doing what we do best; making meals and serving the community!
In October we launched our Dine with Friends project. This was a food delivery service with the offer of a befriending call or zoom chat – we even featured on ITV Meridian!
As this latest lockdown lifts, we are excited to showcase our newest venture! As of 12th April, when the library is open for browsing, you can pre-order from our new ‘grab & go’ menu.
The cafe will be open for collection and our aim is to encourage people whilst they are browsing, to order a speciality coffee for collection or a little snack! Anyone can take us up on this offer and we are hoping this will keep the cafe going for a month
and after a month?!
All going to plan, we can finally have people actually inside!! Our team are so excited to see you!
We are also offering affordable personalised catering for small numbers as well as large gatherings (when we can), business meetings, & picnics in the park. Our Grab & Go menu will be available soon!
Did you know at the café we also offer a Food & Cookery Skills class as part of Craftworks College? We asked our student about how it’s been so far!
“I like being a Brogdale because I can learn and I can get a qualification. I enjoy working at Food with Friends café because it is fun and the people are nice. Food with Friends is always a clean and tidy place to work.” -Z
I am a Brogdale student, I come to study a food and hospitality course with my teachers. We make all sorts of foods in the café from a victoria sponge to fruit cakes, we make scones and soups in a variety of different flavours, we also make all different types of food in the café. We at Brogdale have a farm called Muddy wellies and most of our produce comes fresh from the farm and transformed into delicious foods in the cafe that we then deliver to the customers.
I would recommend Brogdale CIC to anyone who would like to work towards a qualification as they are patient, caring, understanding and it is an enjoyable place to study. – L
