Bank Holiday Booster

Here are five ideas to fill the bank holiday that you can do from home, or whilst out walking. These are great for connecting with others safely!

1. Bank Holiday Bake

Bank Holidays are for baking, picnics, and family time! Why not take part in our Bank Holiday Bake. You can find the details here https://www.facebook.com/events/256158905729883/ . We’d love to see your creation and if like me you can’t get hold of any apples – why not send us a pic of your alternative bake!

2. Save Some Bees

Head over to https://friendsoftheearth.uk/bees where you can get yourself one of their Bee Saver kits. The started kit includes

  • Wildflower seeds – to help provide vital food and habitat for us.
  • Bee saver guide – tips to save bees like us, and how to build a bee hotel.
  • Bee spotter guide – to identify our bee friends visiting your garden.
  • Garden planner – to help you plan a bee-friendly garden.
  • Bee postcard – to send to your loved ones.
  • Bee Saver Kit folder – to store your bee-saving materials in one place

or learn how to build your own Bee Hotel here

3. Bank Holiday Crafting

Bank Holidays are great for craft projects! Maybe you could work on our Art Journal project If you want something simpler, what about some of these toilet roll crafts!

4. Bank Some Skills

The Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award, known as iDEA is an international programme that helps you develop digital, enterprise and employability skills for free. Through online challenges, you can win career-enhancing badges, unlock new opportunities and, ultimately, gain industry-recognised Awards that help you stand out from the crowd.

5. Bank Holiday Scavenger Hunt

You can download our hand-drawn hunt, and take it with you on a walk, to see what you can spot. Or take your camera on a walk and take creative picuters of landmarks and send to another household to find and recreate the photos!
