During the February half term, ten young people aged between 12 and 18 and four members of staff from the Faversham Youth Consortium spent a weekend at the Llanberis Adventure Centre in North Wales.
The adventure was funded by a generous donation of £500 from the South Area Residents Association – Kent (SARA).
Rafting, abseiling, kayaking, rock climbing and gorge scrambling were just some of the challenges they enjoyed in the first three days but the best was still to come. On day four they climbed Tryfan, a 915 metre mountain where they encountered snow above 800 metres. All returned safely, if somewhat exhausted, to Faversham and their accommodation at the Moat, Amicus Horizon and Hyde homes.
